Important: we hope you have found this directory helpful over the last few months. As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, this directory is being checked for accuracy less frequently.  General Information & Advice

Dundee City Council - Coronavirus Freephone Helpline

A Freephone Helpline is now available for people who have received a letter from Scotland's Chief Medical Officerdue to specific health conditions. Council advisors will provide support to access emergency food provision and medication delivery where no other options exist, such as a support from a household member, friend or relative. It is expected that over time the Helpline will be expanded to include other people in need as the current Coronavirus situation develops.

People who have received the Chief Medical Officer's letter and have no other forms of support available should call the Freephone telephone 0300 123 1403 (Monday to Friday 8.30am -5pm)

 Dial-OP

Dial-OP call handlers will provide organisations and the general public with the most up to date information and will signpost or arrange onward referral to the relevant services.  You can email dialop@dvva.scot or call 01382 305757, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Includes information about current services relating to your wellbeing - shopping, food provision, collecting prescriptions, befriending and morning calls, etc. Check call charges with your phone provider.

Citizens Advice

Face to face advice will only be available for emergency situations and by appointment only.

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for on their advice website here then please get in touch. Telephone advice unit is available on 01382 307494, from 09.30 to 16:00 hours. Penumbra Carers Support

Support with caring role/emotional support; explore self-management resources and coping strategies; safe planning; information and sign-posting to other relevant agencies. Support being provided via telephone, text, e-mail and Zoom.

The Carer has to be aged 16+ and the person they care for aged 16-65. Either the Carer or ‘cared for person’ must live in Dundee.

Dial-OP Blether Buddies & Morning CallPhone support for vulnerable people. Offer two different telephone services - a Morning call which is a quick 4-5minute check in to see the person is well and has everything they need. The other service is a Blether Buddy where volunteers are matched with a vulnerable person and they blether together once a week for 20-30 minutes, building relationships and sharing news and stories and keeping connected. A vulnerable person can choose one service or both.

Making Recovery Real Peer Support LineThe Peer Support Phone Line aims to provide people with some calm during times of distress by allowing callers to share their thoughts and feelings, talk about mental health, recovery and what works for them. This line will also allow callers to find out what other services and support is available in Dundee.

EMPLOYMENT: Provides support for jobless people living in Dundee – particularly people who live in an SIMD area, those who are long term unemployed, older unemployed workers, refugees and BME communities.
